Construction Materials Testing (CMT) was founded in 2001 and has since become a premier geotechnical engineering and testing laboratory for the industry. CMT specializes in geotechnical design, Portland cement concrete (PCC), Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), aggregates, and smoothness (profilometer) testing. CMT provides NDT testing, such as visual steel inspections and forensic investigations (rebound hammering). CMT is based in Des Moines, Iowa and maintains AASHTO and U.S. Army Corps accreditations.

Each of the technicians carries Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT), American Concrete Institute (ACI) and National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certifications. We also staff full time engineers who are Licensed Professional Engineers in the state of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois and Wisconsin.
